Augers are an efficient and cost-effective solution for automatically bringing your grist post-mill into your brewhouse. There are several applications available on the market, which range in delivery speed, convey type, and motor type.
At BBS, we provide flex augers that use stainless steel screw shafts that are housed in PVC pipes that can be installed in various grain handling scenarios.
Our flex augers are a fully enclosed system, which helps keep the malt dust created during milling contained, saving brewers time and hassle when cleaning the brewhouse and cellar vessels.
Pro Tip: Be aware that the rotary screw of flex augers can be hard on the grain when conveying the milled malt. Some brewers will need to adjust their crush to allow for the extra shear on the malt as to not produce too much flour in your mash.
